Kyle Werman

Kyle Werman took the helm of the La Salle Baseball program in the spring of 2015, replacing long-time coach, Joe Parisi, who became the AD after state title runs in 2012 and 2014. Coach Werman earned a degree from the University of Virginia, graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Education. A walk-on turned four-year starter at secondbase and captain in 2005, Werman helped lead the Cavaliers to two NCAA Tournament appearances and was named to the Corvallis Regional All-Tournament Team. Werman signed a free-agent contract with the New York Mets, spending the 2005 season with the Kingsport Mets of the Appalachian League, a Rookie-class affiliate. He also played professionally with the Washington Wild Things of the independent Frontier League for two seasons prior to returning to his alma mater to begin a career as a college coach.

 

Prior to joining La Salle, Werman spent seven years in Division I baseball, including one year at UVa (2008), and two years each at George Mason University (2009-2010), Radford University (2011-2012), Saint Joseph’s University (2013-2014), where he served as a hitting coach, position coach, and recruiter.

The Explorers hold a combined record of (121-44) under Coach Werman, including three Philadelphia Catholic League titles (2018, 2019, & 2021).  59 players have continued their baseball careers at the collegiate level since 2015.

 

In addition to leading the baseball program, Coach Werman teaches Science (Physics) and Engineering at La Salle. He and his wife, Samantha, live in Ft Washington with their three children, Masen, Kaleb and Riley.
